Captains Christmas Message
As we move into 2021, we can be proud of our achievements in a year which has been so disrupted by the Coronavirus. Despite the lockdowns and social distancing units have worked hard to keep cadet training and activities moving forward using online learning. This has not been easy, but many units have risen to the challenge and we can look forward to getting back to normal next year.
Two events this year I think are worthy of special mention: Cdr Keith Coleman completed another marathon to raise funds for the Maritime Cadets and TS Broadsword has operated a Food Bank for the Local Community.
The New Year will see the reopening of the Formby Maritime Cadet Unit. This will be commanded by Lt Helen Rolston who has formed a strong team of experienced Staff and volunteers. TS Royal Daffodil at Wallasey Unit will be re-opening as soon as they are able to move back into the Headquarters they use.
I would like to pay tribute to Lt Cdr Michael Goodwin who passed away at the end of October. Michael was a very experienced Officer and a friend to all of us and is sadly missed.
Finally, I would like to thank all staff, supporters, parents, cadets and everyone who has helped us to get through this difficult year and wish you all a good and safe Christmas and a happy New Year.
Captain (Maritime Cadets)
